The Clear Islam

A PROPHET HAS ARISEN IN ARABIA

Muhammad (SAW) climbed to the top of al-Ṣafā, a high place near the Kaʽba in Mecca, and he called out, “My people!”

“Who’s that?” they said, and gathered around him.

“All praise is due to God Almighty. I praise him and seek His help. I believe in Him and trust in Him, and I testify that there is no god besides He alone without peers.”

WHAT IS ISLAM?

Islam means to recognize that the One True God has power over all things and to then achieve a state of peace and security by surrendering to God and faithfully upholding His commandments as He has conveyed them through His prophets.

While every nation has been sent prophets at some point in history, earlier prophets carried commandments and messages for their nations in limited times and places. God’s final prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him), has brought teachings for all humankind, teachings that will continue to guide us until the Last Day. The implementation of those teachings into a way of life constitutes the religion of Islam.

who is your Lord?

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “He is Allah—One ˹and Indivisible˺; Allah—the Sustainer ˹needed by all˺. He has never had offspring, nor was He born. And there is none comparable to Him.”

- The Clear Quran® (Surah 112)

To Allah belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn you are facing ˹towards˺ Allah. Surely Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing. They say, “Allah has offspring.” Glory be to Him! In fact, to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth—all are subject to His Will. ˹He is˺ the Originator of the heavens and the earth! When He decrees a matter, He simply tells it, “Be!” And it is! (The Clear Quran, 2:115-117)

Power and Rulership over the Cosmos belongs only to God, so make your obedience, your worship, your ultimate trust & reliance, your religion for God alone. (The Clear Quran, 40:65)

With Him are the keys of the unseen—no one knows them except Him. And He knows what is in the land and sea. Not even a leaf falls without His knowledge, nor a grain in the darkness of the earth or anything—green or dry—but is ˹written˺ in a perfect Record. (The Clear Quran, 6:59)

All praise is for Allah Who created the heavens and the earth and made darkness and light. Yet the disbelievers set up equals to their Lord ˹in worship˺. He is the One Who created you from clay, then appointed a term ˹for your death˺ and another known only to Him ˹for your resurrection˺—yet you continue to doubt! He is the Only True God in the heavens and the earth. He knows whatever you conceal and whatever you reveal, and knows whatever you do. (The Clear Quran, 6:1-3)

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. His light is like a niche in which there is a lamp, the lamp is in a crystal, the crystal is like a shining star, lit from ˹the oil of˺ a blessed olive tree, ˹located˺ neither to the east nor the west, whose oil would almost glow, even without being touched by fire. Light upon light! Allah guides whoever He wills to His light. And Allah sets forth parables for humanity. For Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things. (The Clear Quran, 24:35)

when is the last day?

They ask you ˹O Prophet˺ regarding the Hour, “When will it be?” Say, “That knowledge is only with my Lord. He alone will reveal it when the time comes. It is too tremendous for the heavens and the earth and will only take you by surprise.” They ask you as if you had full knowledge of it. Say, “That knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know. (The Clear Quran, 7:187)

The Trumpet will be blown and all those in the heavens and all those on the earth will fall dead, except those Allah wills ˹to spare˺. Then it will be blown again and they will rise up at once, looking on ˹in anticipation˺. (The Clear Quran, 39:68)

At last, when the Trumpet will be blown with one blast, and the earth and mountains will be lifted up and crushed with one blow, on that Day the Inevitable Event will have come to pass. The sky will then be so torn that it will be frail, with the angels on its sides.

On that Day eight ˹mighty angels˺ will bear the Throne of your Lord above them. You will then be presented ˹before Him for judgment˺, and none of your secrets will stay hidden. As for those given their records in their right hand, they will cry ˹happily˺, “Here ˹everyone˺! Read my record! I surely knew I would face my reckoning.” They will be in a life of bliss, in an elevated Garden, whose fruit will hang within reach. ˹They will be told,˺ “Eat and drink joyfully for what you did in the days gone by.”

And as for those given their record in their left hand, they will cry ˹bitterly˺, “I wish I had not been given my record, nor known anything of my reckoning! I wish death was the end! My wealth has not benefited me! My authority has been stripped from me.”

˹It will be said,˺ “Seize and shackle them, then burn them in Hell, then tie them up with chains seventy arms long. For they never had faith in Allah, the Greatest, nor encouraged the feeding of the poor. So this Day they will have no close friend here, nor any food except ˹oozing˺ pus, which none will eat except the evildoers.” (The Clear Quran, 69:13-37)

what are the angels?

To Him belong all those in the heavens and the earth. And those nearest to Him are not too proud to worship Him, nor do they tire. They glorify ˹Him˺ day and night, never wavering. (The Clear Quran, 21:20-1)

For each one there are successive angels before and behind, protecting them by Allah’s command. Indeed, Allah would never change a people’s state ˹of favour˺ until they change their own state ˹of faith˺. And if it is Allah’s Will to torment a people, it can never be averted, nor can they find a protector other than Him (The Clear Quran, 13:11)

All praise is for Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, Who made angels ˹as His˺ messengers with wings—two, three, or four. He increases in creation whatever He wills. Surely Allah is Most Capable of everything. (The Clear Quran, 35:1)

He is the One Who sends down angels with revelation by His command to whoever He wills of His servants. (The Clear Quran, 16:2)

what is the scripture?

Indeed, We revealed the Torah, containing guidance and light, by which the prophets, who submitted themselves to Allah, made judgments for Jews. So too did the rabbis and scholars judge according to Allah’s Book, with which they were entrusted and of which they were made keepers. So do not fear the people; fear Me! Nor trade my revelations for a fleeting gain. And those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are ˹truly˺ the disbelievers. (The Clear Quran, 5:44)

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O People of the Book! You have nothing to stand on unless you observe the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord.” And your Lord’s revelation to you ˹O Prophet˺ will only cause many of them to increase in wickedness and disbelief. So do not grieve for the people who disbelieve. (The Clear Quran, 5:68)

Indeed, We gave the Scripture to Moses—so let there be no doubt ˹O Prophet˺ that you ˹too˺ are receiving revelations—1and We made it a guide for the Children of Israel. (The Clear Quran, 32:23)

We have certainly sent messengers before you ˹O Prophet˺ and blessed them with wives and offspring. It was not for any messenger to bring a sign without Allah’s permission. Every destined matter has a ˹set˺ time. Allah eliminates and confirms what He wills, and with Him is the Master Record. (The Clear Quran, 13:38-9)

what is righteousness?

This is the Book! There is no doubt about it—a guide for those mindful ˹of Allah, who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and donate from what We have provided for them, and who believe in what has been revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ and what was revealed before you, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. It is they who are ˹truly˺ guided by their Lord, and it is they who will be successful. (The Clear Quran, 2:2-5)

Righteousness is not in turning your faces towards the east or the west. Rather, the righteous are those who believe in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Books, and the prophets; who give charity out of their cherished wealth to relatives, orphans, the poor, ˹needy˺ travellers, beggars, and for freeing captives; who establish prayer, pay alms-tax, and keep the pledges they make; and who are patient in times of suffering, adversity, and in ˹the heat of˺ battle. It is they who are true ˹in faith˺, and it is they who are mindful ˹of Allah˺. (The Clear Quran, 2:177)

The Jews and Christians each claim that none will enter Paradise except those of their own faith. These are their desires. Reply, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Show ˹me˺ your proof if what you say is true.” But no! Whoever submits themselves to Allah and does good will have their reward with their Lord. And there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve. (The Clear Quran, 2:111-12)

why was I created?

I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me. (The Clear Quran, 51:56)

˹He is the One˺ Who created death and life in order to test which of you is best in deeds. And He is the Almighty, All-Forgiving. (The Clear Quran, 67:2)

˹Remember˺ when your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to place a successive ˹human˺ authority on earth.” They asked ˹Allah˺, “Will You place in it someone who will spread corruption there and shed blood while we glorify Your praises and proclaim Your holiness?” Allah responded, “I know what you do not know.” (The Clear Quran, 2:30)

Did you then think that We had created you without purpose, and that you would never be returned to Us?

(The Clear Quran, 23:115)
